Virat KOHLI

Virat Kohli (born: 05 November 1949) is currently the captain of the Indian cricket team in all three formats.

He became the limited-overs captain after Dhoni stepped down from captaincy in early 2016.

Currently, Kohli is the second-highest batsman in ODI cricket.

He holds the world record for fastest 10 thousand and 11 thousand runs in ODI cricket, which he scored in 205 and 222 innings respectively.

Early life

His mother and father are Saroj Kohli and Prem Kohli.

His brother’s name is Vikas and an elder sister, Bhavna. Kohli completed his education from Vishal Bharti School.

His father Prem Kohli, was a lawyer and died in December 2007.

Kohli married Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on 11 December 2014 in Italy.

Domestic career

Kohli first played in the 2002-03 Polly Umrigar Trophy for Delhi Under-15 team in October 2002.

He was the highest run-scorer for his team in that tournament with an average of 34.60 with a score of 172.

He became the captain of the team for the 2003-04 Poly Umrigar Trophy and scored 4 in 5 innings.

Kohli made his first-class debut for Delhi against Tamil Nadu in November 2007 at the age of 14 and scored 10 runs in his first innings.

After that, he took every match seriously. He scored a total of 254 runs in 6 matches at an average of 34.41 in that season.
